The SECO 02749195 is a multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, designed for grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, this insert delivers reliable cutting performance across a range of workpiece materials. It carries a maximum cutting width of 0.079 inches, a cutting height of 0.112 inches, and a corner radius of 0.008 inches. The CP600 grade and FT chipbreaker geometry are engineered to manage chip flow during grooving. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical end users for this insert type.
This insert is suited for grooving applications in both production and job-shop turning environments. The neutral hand orientation and MDT series design allow multi-directional cutting, giving operators flexibility in groove entry direction. Primary workpiece material codes M, N, P, and S indicate suitability for stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, steel, and high-temperature alloys respectively. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This insert uses style code LCMF, size code 190202, and manufacturer catalog number LCMF190202-0200-FTR6. It is designed for use in toolholders and grooving systems that accept LCMF-style inserts within the MDT series.
Insert replacement and seating should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and all axes at rest. Ensure the insert pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Verify clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the cutting parameters recommended for the CP600 grade and workpiece material combination.
