The SECO 02749193 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert engineered for grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the MDT series standard, it carries a CP600 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for extended tool life in demanding cuts. The insert measures 0.112 inches in cutting height and 0.079 inches in maximum cutting width, with a 0.008-inch corner radius for controlled edge geometry. The LCMF insert style and FT chipbreaker designation make it well suited for stable chip control during radial and axial grooving passes. It is sold individually and requires a minimum order of 10 pieces.
This insert is designed for use in grooving applications across a range of workpiece materials including stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys, corresponding to ISO material codes M, N, P, and S. It is intended for installation in compatible MDT-series toolholders used in production turning environments. The neutral hand orientation allows application flexibility in both OD and face grooving setups on standard CNC turning equipment. Machinists and CNC tool setters in production shops are the primary users of this insert type.
Designed for use with MDT-series toolholders accepting LCMF-style inserts. Manufacturer catalog number LCMF190202-0200-FT corresponds directly to this insert for toolholder matching. Verify seat dimensions and clamping system compatibility before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw to secure the insert without over-torquing the seat. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure full contact and repeatable tool offset.
