The SECO 02749013 is a right-hand CFZR-style indexable turning toolholder from the SECO Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series. It features a 0.75 inch x 0.75 inch steel shank and an overall length of 6 inches. The holder accepts LC.. 2802.. inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method and supports coolant-through delivery for improved chip evacuation and tool life. With a 90-degree lead angle and a maximum depth of cut of 1.1 inches, it is suited for demanding turning, grooving, parting, threading, and milling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe technicians are the primary installers of this toolholder in production and job-shop environments.
This toolholder is designed for use in CNC turning centers and manual lathes where a right-hand cutting direction and square shank mounting are required. It is well suited for both external grooving and turning operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The coolant-through capability makes it particularly useful in high-speed or deep-cut applications where heat and chip control are critical. The CFZR style and MDT series designation indicate multi-directional cutting flexibility, allowing axial, radial, and face grooving from a single holder configuration.
Designed to accept LC.. 2802.. series inserts (compatible insert size code LC2802) as specified by SECO. Verify insert geometry and grade selection against the workpiece material and operation type before use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the toolholder in the turret or tool block according to the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the specific mounting hardware used. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and in an e-stop state before changing toolholders or inserts. Confirm coolant-through port alignment with the machine spindle or turret coolant supply before engaging coolant flow.
