The SECO 02744585 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert carrying manufacturer part number 218.19-125T-T3-M07 and grade MM4500. It features a CVD-applied dual-layer TiCN and Al2O3 coating over a coarse grain carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during high-demand milling operations. The insert has a positive rake angle of 10 degrees, a 12-degree relief angle, a T-Land cutting edge style, and three usable cutting edges. With a corner radius of 0.0315 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.059 inches, it is sized for precise finishing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians install this insert in compatible face and shoulder milling cutters.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for a range of fixturing setups. The M07 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow in these demanding materials, reducing the risk of re-cutting and built-up edge. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method standard to the 218.19-125 series. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on machining centers running ISO P, M, and S workpiece material categories.
Compatible with cutter series R218.19-25, R217.21-R125, and R220.21-R125 per manufacturer data. Conforms to ANSI and ISO code 218.19-125T-T3-M07.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, isolate and lock out the machine spindle per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and cutter-body screw specified by SECO for the R218.19 series cutter to avoid seat damage. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
