The SECO 02743972 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer part number XNEX080608TR-ME09 in the MM4500 grade. It features a trigon (XNEX) shape with a negative rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style, delivering six usable cutting edges from a double-sided configuration. The CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 coating on coarse-grain solid carbide provides wear resistance suited for demanding cutting conditions. The ME09 chip breaker geometry and 0.0315-inch corner radius support controlled chip formation across a range of feed rates. This insert is sized to the XNEX-08 series with a 0.4913-inch inscribed circle and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2953 inches. It is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians on compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is designed for milling operations on stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with additional rated application in steel, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand, screw-held mount makes it compatible with XNEX-08 series cutter bodies, specifically the R220.96-08 cutter series. It is suited for ISO material groups P, M, and S. Typical use cases include face milling and shoulder milling in production environments where heat-resistant and work-hardening materials are common. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with the R220.96-08 cutter series and XNEX-08 series milling cutter bodies. ANSI and ISO code XNEX080608TR-ME09. Rated for ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the crew-held insert. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
