The SECO 02733903 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the JS553 series, it features a 0.0787 inch (2.00 mm) mill diameter, a 0.1969 inch (5.00 mm) length of cut, and a 0.2362 inch (6.00 mm) shank diameter. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry runs at a 48-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The SIRON-A coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal protection, extending tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations.
This end mill is engineered for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. Its micrograin carbide construction and SIRON-A coating make it well-suited for production work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. Typical users include machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC programmers working in job shops or manufacturing environments that require a reliable small-diameter end mill for intricate features and finish passes.
Designed for use with steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), high-temperature alloys (S), aluminum and non-ferrous metals (N), and hardened materials (H) as designated by ISO workpiece material codes. Part of the SECO JS553 series of solid carbide square end mills.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Ensure the shank is properly seated and torqued in a collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.2362 inch shank diameter before operation. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set according to the material being machined and toolholder specifications before starting the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated length-of-cut depth in a single pass.
