The SECO 02730827 is a WNMG 433-MF2 trigon turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlSiN finish applied via PVD process. The insert carries a TH1000 manufacturer grade and is designed for high-performance external and internal turning operations. With a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0472-inch corner radius, and an 80-degree included angle, it delivers precise, controlled cuts in demanding material groups. The MF2 chip breaker geometry features a chamfered and honed cutting edge for stability in interrupted and continuous cuts. This insert is used by machinists and CNC turning specialists working in production and job-shop environments.
The 02730827 is engineered primarily for machining superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S) as well as hard materials (ISO material code H), corresponding to material grades S05 and H05. Its neutral hand orientation and negative rake angle make it suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations on standard turret toolholders that accept WNMG-style inserts with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert seat and shim for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout control.
