The SECO 02730826 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG 432-MF2 series, designed for precision finishing operations on superalloys, titanium, and hardened materials. Carrying the TH1000 grade designation with a PVD-applied TiAlSiN multilayer coating, this insert delivers high wear resistance across demanding cutting conditions. The 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry produces stable, controlled cutting action. With 6 usable cutting edges per insert, it offers strong cost-per-edge value for production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with aerospace and high-temp alloy components will find this insert well-suited to tight-tolerance finishing passes.
This insert is used in external and internal turning applications including boring, facing, and general turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. The MF2 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, making it appropriate for light-to-moderate depths of cut on difficult-to-machine materials such as nickel-base superalloys, titanium alloys, and hardened steels. It is compatible with standard WNMG-style toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. The neutral hand allows use in both left- and right-hand toolholder configurations.

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before engaging the clamping mechanism, and inspect the pocket for chips or debris that could affect seating. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque guidance for the specific clamping screw to avoid insert fracture or pocket damage.
