The SECO 02730819 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG-MF2 series, designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. It carries the TH1000 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer TiAlSiN PVD coating applied over a carbide substrate. The insert geometry is a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches, a corner radius of 0.03125 inches, and an insert thickness of 0.25 inches. With four cutting edges and an MF2 chip breaker optimized for finishing operations, this insert delivers consistent chip control at light-to-moderate depths of cut. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert on negative-rake toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
This insert is intended for finishing operations on superalloys, titanium, and hardened materials — workpiece categories classified under material grades S05 and H05. The TH1000 grade provides high wear resistance suited to superalloys and titanium, along with a range of wear resistance to toughness for hardened materials. Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and standard OD turning. The MF2 chip breaker geometry supports finishing passes where close tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
