The SECO 02679241 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the JS553 series platform, it features a 2 mm mill diameter, 3 flutes, and a 48-degree high helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. The tool is coated with SIRON-A, a PVD AlCrN-class coating engineered to extend tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. Centercutting geometry allows plunging and ramp-down entries without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in precision milling applications.
This end mill is suited for a wide range of machining operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The extended reach configuration and narrow 2 mm cutting diameter make it well-suited for tight-tolerance work in small-feature cavities. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The short length-of-cut profile supports rigid setups with reduced vibration tendency.

Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and lockout-tagout procedures. Verify that the collet or tool holder bore matches the 6 mm shank diameter and that runout does not exceed the 0.01 mm TIR maximum before commencing cuts. Consult the machine tool builder and cutting tool documentation for appropriate feed and speed parameters based on workpiece material and depth of cut. Handle carbide tooling with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges during installation and storage.
