The SECO 02656601 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX120408TR-M12 in manufacturer grade MP3000. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering hard, wear-resistant cutting performance. It provides two cutting edges with a positive rake angle of 10.4 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style. The 15-degree relief angle and micrograin carbide substrate make this insert well-suited for demanding milling operations in hard materials and steel. Installation is handled by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians using screw-style insert holding.
This insert is intended for milling applications in steel, stainless steel, and hard materials, corresponding to material codes P, M, and H. It is designed for use in high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations where consistent edge life and dimensional accuracy are required. The M12 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across a range of cut depths up to 0.4567 inches, making it applicable in both roughing and finishing contexts on ferrous and hard workpiece materials.

This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert.
