The SECO 02656580 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying grade MP3000 and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. It belongs to the LNKT-05 series and is designed for indexable milling operations on hard materials, steel, and stainless steel. The insert features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle, a negative rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With four usable cutting edges and a double-sided configuration, the insert delivers extended tool life per insert seat. The chip breaker designation is M06, tuned for the material applications this grade targets. Licensed HVAC techs do not install this part — it is installed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC or manual milling machines.
The LNKT 050408PPTN4-M06 is suited for milling operations where hard materials, carbon steels, and austenitic stainless steels are the primary workpiece materials. Primary workpiece material code is H; secondary codes are P and M. The insert is compatible with cutter bodies in the 335.18 series and is held in place by a screw-clamping method. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes depending on depth of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1969 inches tied to the inscribed circle diameter.
Compatible with cutter bodies in the 335.18 series. The ANSI and ISO designation for this insert is LNKT050408PPTN4-M06. Insert size code is 050408 within the LNKT-05 series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before indexing or replacing the insert, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or screw shear — consult the cutter body manufacturer documentation for the specified torque value. Verify the insert pocket is clean and free of chips before seating the new insert.
