The SECO 02656009 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert in the 218.19-125T-T3-M07 series, designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding milling applications. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting hard materials, steel, and stainless steel. It features three cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 10 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and an M07 chip breaker geometry. The insert measures 0.1563 inches thick with an inscribed circle diameter of 0.3504 inches and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches. It is screw-held and suitable for use by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC milling operations.
This insert is intended for milling applications targeting hard materials, steel, and stainless steel in both production and job-shop environments. The MP3000 grade and TiAlN PVD coating make it well suited for interrupted cuts and high-speed passes where heat and edge wear are primary concerns. It carries a neutral hand designation, making it compatible with standard tooling setups. The maximum depth of cut is 0.0590 inches. Compatible cutter series include R218.19-25, R217.21-R125, and R220.21-R125 as specified by the manufacturer. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Compatible with cutter series R218.19-25, R217.21-R125, and R220.21-R125 as stated by the manufacturer. ISO and ANSI designation 218.19-125T-T3-M07 applies for cross-reference purposes.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per shop safety procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the screw-held insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for the insert grade and cutter body combination in use.
