The SECO 02638285 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOEX120408R-M07 and manufactured to the MS2500 grade. It is designed for demanding face and shoulder milling operations, primarily targeting superalloys, titanium, steel, and stainless steel. The insert features a CVD-applied dual-layer coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for heat resistance and wear life at elevated cutting temperatures. The XOEX120408R-M07 is a right-hand, single-sided insert in the XOEX-12 series. It is compatible with SECO cutter bodies in the R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 series. The M07 chip breaker geometry is suited to medium-grain material grades and variable depth-of-cut scenarios common in roughing-to-semi-finish milling passes.

Installation is performed by qualified machining center operators or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the cutter body secured before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer torque specification for screw-held inserts — do not over-torque the clamping screw. Confirm correct insert orientation (right-hand) and seating before resuming cutting operations.
