The SECO 02625476 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, grade TGP25, designed for precision turning operations on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. The insert features a TiCN/Al2O3 Duratomic coating applied over a solid carbide substrate at material grade C5, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. Key dimensional specs include a maximum cutting width of 0.118 inches, a cutting height of 0.177 inches, a corner radius of 0.059 inches, and an insert length of 0.674 inches. The neutral hand orientation and LCMR1603M0-0300-MP style make this a versatile single-end insert for turning centers and CNC lathes. Installation and toolholder selection are handled by machining professionals.
This insert is suited for multi-directional turning applications across light to medium-duty operations on cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon or alloy steel. The MP chipbreaker geometry is optimized for these material families and supports consistent chip control across a range of feeds and depths. The full radius configuration (LCMR insert style) makes it appropriate for profiling and contouring passes where a defined corner geometry is required. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in MDT series toolholders accepting the LCMR1603M0 insert size. Primary workpiece material codes are K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), and P (steel). Verify toolholder seat and clamping style before ordering.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage or insert breakage. Inspect the pocket seat for debris or wear before installing a new insert.
