The SECO 02623028 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for grooving and turning operations in demanding metalworking applications. Manufactured to the LCMF1604M00400MP style specification, this insert carries the TGP25 manufacturer grade and features a Duratomic coating process that enhances wear resistance and thermal stability. The double-ended, neutral-hand design provides two usable cutting edges per insert. With a relief angle of 7 degrees and the MP chipbreaker geometry, it is suited for controlled chip flow across a range of material types. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in production turning environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is engineered for use on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes K, M, and P. It fits the MDT series toolholding system and is applied in multi-directional turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in both job shop and production environments. The full-radius insert geometry and MP chipbreaker make it well suited for finishing and light roughing passes where chip control is a priority.

Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state per applicable lockout-tagout procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate ranges established in the toolholder documentation for this insert style.
