The SECO 02616018 is a solid carbide round profiling insert in the RCGS2 style, designed for precision profiling and turning operations on difficult-to-machine materials. Manufactured under the TS2000 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating, it delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cuts. The insert features a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle, a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) thickness, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1250 inches. With four cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it is well-suited for CNC turning centers and machining cells where tool change frequency and edge economy matter. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this insert for high-productivity finishing and semi-finishing passes.
This insert is engineered for profiling and turning applications on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — material groups M, S, and H. The 360-degree included angle and 7-degree relief angle support continuous round-profile cutting paths. The T-Lock series clamp and pin holding method provides rigid, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders, making it a reliable choice for tight-tolerance contour work on aerospace, medical, and precision industrial components.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling specialist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in a locked turret or block before seating or removing the insert. Use the correct clamping screw torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification, and confirm proper insert seating against all locating surfaces before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris that could prevent full seating and cause premature edge failure.
