The SECO 02615994 is a CNMG 433-MF4 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating in the TS2500 grade. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 3/64 inch (0.0472 inch) corner radius. It carries a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake geometry, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style with the MF4 chip breaker. Four cutting edges are available per insert. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC turning centers and manual lathes performing boring, facing, and turning operations.
The 02615994 is designed primarily for machining superalloys and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It is suited to precision turning applications where controlled chip formation and edge toughness are required on difficult-to-machine materials. The MF4 chip breaker geometry supports moderate to light depths of cut with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4606 inches. This insert is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes on aerospace and industrial components where surface integrity and tool life are critical factors.
Designed for use in standard CNMG 433 toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock insert retention. Suitable for turning, boring, and facing operations on superalloys, titanium, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Conforms to ANSI and ISO CNMG120412-MF4 dimensional standards, ensuring fitment in any compliant CNMG toolholder system.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket seat and tighten the clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before each use and confirm the insert is indexed to a fresh edge before resuming cuts.
