The SECO 02615992 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining applications. Carrying the CNMG 431-MF4 designation with a TS2500 manufacturer grade, this insert features a PVD-applied multilayer TiAlN and TiN coating optimized for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The insert geometry includes an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge with a corner radius of 0.0157 inches. With four available cutting edges, it delivers consistent performance in boring, facing, and turning operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working with precision turning equipment.
This insert is engineered primarily for superalloys and titanium workpiece materials, making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy sector machining. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The MF4 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate to light depths of cut. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.4921 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches, this insert fits standard CNMG toolholders and is appropriate for both production and job shop environments requiring reliable performance on difficult-to-machine alloys.

This insert is seated and secured by a licensed machinist or CNC technician using a clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholder system. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Verify correct seating in the pocket and confirm the clamping mechanism is fully engaged before resuming cuts. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications for the specific holder in use.
