The SECO 02615901 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMP series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. This insert carries a TS2000 manufacturer grade with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating for extended tool life and heat resistance at the cutting edge. The 55-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code D) and honed cutting edge style provide controlled chip formation through the MF1 chip breaker geometry. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert suits medium to light finishing passes. Four cutting edges are available per insert, making it a cost-effective option for high-volume turning operations.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 cover a broad range of work materials encountered in aerospace, oil and gas, and general precision machining environments. The neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry make it compatible with standard DNMP-style toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Suitable applications include turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on CNC equipment. Industry standard number DNMP431-MF1 and ISO equivalent DNMG150404-MF1 apply to this insert for cross-reference purposes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for DNMP-style toolholders accepting a 431 insert size with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. ISO equivalent designation is DNMG150404-MF1. Industry standard number DNMP431-MF1 applies for cross-reference. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; package quantity is 1.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use a torx or insert key appropriate to the toolholder style — do not use makeshift tools that can damage the seating pocket or clamping components. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping force and insert stability during cutting.
