The SECO 02615897 is a CNMG 432-MR3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating under the TS2000 grade designation. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake geometry. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, the corner radius is 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch), and the insert thickness is 0.1874 inches. With four available cutting edges and an MR3 chip breaker geometry, this insert is engineered for productive material removal in demanding turning applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and end users of this insert.
This insert is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations. Its primary workpiece material targets are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary workpiece compatibility includes steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, K, and H). The chamfered and honed cutting edge style is well matched to interrupted cuts and general finishing-to-semi-finishing passes in these material groups. The insert is applicable across a maximum depth of cut of 0.4764 inches and an insert length of 0.5079 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-format insert conforming to ANSI and ISO standards under industry standard number CNMG432-MR3 and ISO code CNMG120408-MR3. Suitable for use in any toolholder accepting CNMG 432 inserts with clamp, pin, or lever-lock retention. Applicable material grades include M05, M10, S10, and S15.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's insert indexing procedure. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and seating tool per the toolholder manufacturer's specification to secure the clamp, pin, or lever-lock mechanism. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge runout.
