The SECO 02615895 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMP series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. Carrying the TS2000 grade designation with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch (0.0157 inch) corner radius. The negative rake geometry and honed cutting edge style support stable, controlled cuts across a range of demanding workpiece materials. With four cutting edges per insert, it delivers extended tool life and consistent performance per edge.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as its primary target materials, and also handles steel, cast iron, and hard materials in secondary applications. It is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where moderate depth of cut and edge security are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators typically select this insert for aerospace, medical, and general precision machining environments where stainless and high-temp alloys are common workpiece materials.
Designed for use in CNMP-style toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert with a neutral hand orientation. Insert holding methods supported include clamp, pin, and lever lock. ISO equivalent designation is CNMG120404-MF1 and industry standard number is CNMP431-MF1, which can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the specific lever lock, pin, or clamp style in use.
