The SECO 02615874 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN coating applied by PVD process, grade TS2000, with an F1 chip breaker geometry and a sharp cutting edge style. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle (0.375 inches), and a 1/64-inch corner radius (0.0157 inches). With a positive rake angle and neutral hand orientation, it delivers controlled chip evacuation during high-demand cuts on difficult-to-machine materials. Two cutting edges per insert extend usable tool life.
This insert is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as its primary workpiece materials. It also performs on steel, cast iron, and hard materials in secondary applications. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light-to-medium roughing passes where surface finish and chip control are critical. Typical users are CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production turning specialists in aerospace, medical, and general metalworking environments. The screw-holding method is compatible with standard CCMT-style tool holders.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamp tool holders. Compatible with applications requiring ISO code CCMT09T304-F1 inserts. Fits holders specifying a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 5/32-inch insert thickness. Verify tool holder seating pocket and screw specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-recommended insert screw to secure the insert in the pocket without over-tightening, which can crack the carbide. Inspect the seating pocket for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper edge alignment and runout.
