The SECO 02594115 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation APFT1604PDTR-D15 in manufacturer grade MP1500. This parallelogram-shaped, single-sided insert is designed for indexable milling operations and seats into compatible cutter bodies via a screw-holding method. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a positive rake angle of 8 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style, the insert is engineered to reduce cutting forces on the primary workpiece material of steel while maintaining edge integrity. Licensed HVAC and industrial technicians are replaced here by machinists and CNC operators who rely on these inserts for high-productivity face and shoulder milling.
This insert is suited for milling steel, cast iron, and hard materials in both roughing and finishing applications. The D15 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium to heavy material removal rates on steel and cast iron workpieces. The right-hand cut orientation and positive rake make this a practical choice for general-purpose milling setups on CNC machining centers. Compatible cutter series include the R217.69-16 and R220.69-16 bodies as stated by the manufacturer. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque as listed in the cutter body documentation — do not estimate clamp force by feel. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or burrs before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
