The SECO 02575428 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for precision single-end turning operations in demanding metal removal applications. Built to the LCMR insert style in the MDT series, this insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating over a micrograin solid carbide substrate in the CP200 manufacturer grade. Key cutting geometry includes a 0.236-inch maximum cutting width, a 0.177-inch cutting height, a 0.031-inch corner radius, and a 0.630-inch insert length. The neutral hand orientation and FT chipbreaker make it suitable for a range of turning setups. Installation and use are performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual turning environments.
This insert is rated for primary workpiece materials classified under M and S material codes, covering superalloys and titanium. Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine spindle stopped and all power isolated from the CNC or manual turning center. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure full, flush contact. Verify correct insert orientation and hand designation before resuming cutting operations.
