The SECO 02575395 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, designed for precision grooving and turning operations on superalloy and titanium workpieces. It carries a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating and features a micrograin carbide substrate under the CP200 manufacturer grade. The insert measures 0.125 inches cutting width and 0.177 inches cutting height, with a 0.063-inch corner radius. The LCMF-style geometry and MP chipbreaker work together to manage chip flow in demanding, hard-to-machine materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is suited for multi-directional turning and grooving applications in both production and job-shop environments. Its neutral hand orientation allows use in multiple cut directions without changing tooling setup. The full-radius geometry and double-ended configuration make it well-suited for radial and axial grooving in difficult materials including superalloys and titanium. The CP200 grade with PVD coating is targeted specifically at ISO material groups M and S, covering stainless steels, heat-resistant superalloys, and titanium alloys where thermal stability and edge toughness are critical.
Designed for use in MDT series toolholders accepting LCMF160300 style inserts. Compatible with ISO material group M (stainless steel) and group S (superalloys and titanium) workpiece materials. Verify toolholder seat and clamping geometry against style code LCMF160300-A125-MP before installation.
This insert is installed and changed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians; the machine spindle must be fully stopped and the axis locked before any insert change. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure when seating the insert. Inspect the insert pocket seat for debris or damage before seating a new insert, as a contaminated or damaged seat will compromise edge geometry and cause premature failure. Handle solid carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
