The SECO 02569285 is a left-hand DCLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built on a 1 inch by 1 inch square steel shank with an overall length of 6 inches, it uses a clamp-lock insert holding method to secure CN-style inserts at a negative rake angle of -6 degrees. The 95-degree lead angle positions the insert for stable, aggressive cuts. This toolholder is intended for installation by machinist or toolroom professionals working with indexable tooling systems in production or job-shop environments.
The 02569285 is suited for turning applications across a universal range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is a non-coolant-through design, making it appropriate for standard flood or dry cutting setups. The left-hand cutting direction accommodates climb-turn or reverse-spindle configurations where a right-hand holder cannot be used.
Accepts CN..43.. series inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, including CNGA, CNGP, CNMA, CNMG, CNMM, and CNMP insert styles. Compatible insert size code is CN43.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or changing the toolholder. Seat the shank squarely in the tool block or turret and torque the clamping screws per the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify insert seating and clamp integrity before resuming cutting operations.
