The SECO 02566004 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation APKT1604PDTR-ME14, manufactured to grade MK1500 with a micrograin carbide substrate. It features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for wear resistance and thermal stability during milling operations. The insert is parallelogram-shaped with an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 24 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With two cutting edges and a screw-type holding method, it is suited to right-hand face and shoulder milling applications. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators install this insert in compatible SECO cutter bodies.
This insert is designed primarily for milling cast iron workpieces, consistent with its K-grade material classification. The ME14 chip breaker geometry controls chip flow at the cutting edge, making it appropriate for moderate depths of cut in production milling environments. It fits SECO cutter series R217.69-16 and R220.69-16. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on cast iron components in industrial manufacturing and job-shop settings. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order placement.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool de-energized before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate SECO torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw; refer to the cutter body documentation for the specified fastener torque value. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
