The SECO 02565979 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation 335.18-1005T-M10 in manufacturer grade MK1500. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, double-sided construction, and four cutting edges, making it a high-cycle tooling option for face and shoulder milling operations. The insert measures 0.3937 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.2126 inches thick. A CVD-applied TiCN plus Al2O3 Duratomic coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability. The negative rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style and M10 chip breaker is engineered specifically for cutting cast iron. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and tooling specialists in production and maintenance machining environments.
This insert is suited for milling cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop settings. It belongs to the 335.18-10 series and is compatible with the 335.18-1418 cutter series. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand milling setups without dedicated handed tooling. The screw-held mounting method provides secure clamping with repeatable indexing. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and interrupted-cut operations on gray and ductile cast iron components where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities.

Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or indexing any insert. Use the correct Torx or hex key torque driver as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw — do not overtighten freehand. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a fresh edge.
