The SECO 02565594 is a right-hand DWLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 0.75-inch square shank and an overall length of 4.5 inches, accommodating WN-series trigon inserts in a clamp-lock holding system. The negative rake geometry at -6 degrees promotes insert strength and edge stability during interrupted cuts and general-purpose turning across a broad range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning center operators are the primary installers of this toolholder. The clamp-lock system secures the insert firmly, reducing micro-movement during heavy feeds.
This toolholder is suited for universal turning applications in both production and job-shop environments. The DWLN style positions the insert at a 95-degree lead angle, making it appropriate for straight turning and facing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as exotic alloys. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast iron, stainless, non-ferrous, steel, and superalloys. It is commonly used on CNC turning centers and engine lathes where a 0.75-inch toolholder shank is specified.
Compatible with WN..33.. series trigon inserts, specifically WNGA, WNGP, WNMA, WNMG, WNMM, and WNMP with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Designed for right-hand cutting direction in external turning applications across universal workpiece material classifications H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be stopped and all motion fully arrested before mounting or indexing the toolholder. Verify that the toolholder shank seats fully in the turret or toolpost and that all clamping screws are tightened to the machine manufacturer's specifications before starting the spindle. Use the correct torx or hex key for the insert clamp screw and follow the insert manufacturer's clamping procedure to avoid insert damage.
