The SECO 02565497 is a right-hand DDJN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 0.75 x 0.75 inch square shank and an overall length of 4.5 inches, built to accept DN-style negative-rake inserts held in place by a clamp-lock mechanism. The toolholder is machined from steel and carries a negative rake angle of -6 degrees, making it suited for heavy interrupted cuts and work on hard or abrasive materials. It is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians in production and job-shop turning environments.
This toolholder is intended for right-hand cutting direction and carries a 93-degree lead angle, positioning it for standard facing and longitudinal turning passes. It is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. The clamp-lock insert retention method provides repeatable insert seating and quick changeover, which is practical in high-volume turning cells where insert indexing frequency is high. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist coolant delivery must be used where heat management is required.
Compatible with DN-type indexable inserts sized to a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, specifically insert compatibility codes DN..43.. including DNGA, DNGM, DNGP, DNMA, DNMG, DNMP, and DNMX insert styles. Compatible insert size codes are DN43 and DN44.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. The machine spindle and all axis drives must be fully stopped and the control placed in an appropriate safe state before toolholder mounting or insert indexing. Toolholders of this shank size are typically secured in a turret or tool block using the appropriate clamping torque specified by the machine tool builder. Verify insert seating and clamp screw engagement before resuming cutting operations.
