The SECO 02560823 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for precision turning operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to the LCMF insert style with manufacturer grade CP200, this insert features a micrograin carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for wear resistance and thermal stability. Key dimensions include a maximum cutting width of 0.118 inches, a cutting height of 0.177 inches, an insert length of 0.630 inches, and a corner radius of 0.008 inches. The FT chipbreaker geometry and neutral hand orientation make this insert well suited for multi-directional cutting paths. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is engineered for use in MDT series tooling systems and is rated for primary workpiece materials in the superalloy and titanium categories (material codes M and S). These are among the most difficult-to-machine materials in aerospace, medical, and energy component manufacturing. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life per insert, making it a cost-efficient choice for high-volume production environments where superalloy and titanium turning is routine. The LCMF160302-0300-FT style designation confirms direct application compatibility within the MDT tooling platform.
Designed for use in MDT series multi-directional turning toolholders accepting LCMF-style inserts, style designation LCMF160302-0300-FT. Rated for superalloy and titanium workpiece materials (ISO material codes M and S).
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the toolholder pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert to avoid micro-fracture from uneven clamping load. When machining superalloys or titanium, verify that coolant flow is adequate and directed at the cutting zone before engaging the workpiece. Never regrind or modify this insert geometry in the field.
