The SECO 02505942 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation SPMX1904AP-75 in manufacturer grade F40M. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a neutral rake angle, a T-Land cutting edge style, and four usable cutting edges. The insert measures 0.625 inches in length and width, with a nominal thickness of 0.187 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.625 inches. A PVD-applied TiAlN plus TiN dual coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection. The chip breaker designation is 75. The insert is held by screw clamping and is designed for use in SPMX-19 series milling toolholders. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop milling operations.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S per ISO classification. Secondary materials include cast iron and non-ferrous metal. The maximum depth of cut is 0.750 inches. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose material removal where consistent edge life across difficult-to-machine alloys is required. The 11-degree relief angle and neutral rake geometry support both roughing and semi-finishing passes depending on feed and speed selection.
Designed for use in SPMX-19 series milling toolholders that accept SPMX1904AP-75 screw-clamped inserts. Confirmed ANSI and ISO code: SPMX1904AP-75. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and screw torque specification against the toolholder manufacturer documentation before installation.
Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down, spindle locked, and all stored energy released. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not estimate clamping torque by feel. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw threads for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Confirm runout and insert seating with a dial indicator before resuming production cuts.
