The SECO 02505794 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert carrying manufacturer grade F40M and a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN. Featuring a 60-degree included angle, positive rake geometry at 20 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style, this insert is engineered for controlled chip formation and consistent surface finish across a broad range of metalcutting applications. The corner radius measures 0.0472 inches (3/64 inch), and the insert delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.079 inches. Three cutting edges per insert extend tool life between changeovers. Insert holding is by screw clamp in a neutral hand orientation. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters working in job shops, production machining cells, and contract manufacturing environments are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The F40M fine-grain carbide substrate with PVD TiAlN and TiN coating handles the thermal and abrasive demands of interrupted cuts and variable-hardness workpieces. It is well-matched to face milling, shoulder milling, and copy milling operations where a trigon geometry and positive rake reduce cutting forces on lighter-duty spindles or long-reach setups. Compatible cutter bodies include the R218.19-32, R217.21-R160, and R220.21-R160 series as specified by the manufacturer.

This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is removed from the spindle or safely locked out before handling inserts. Clean the pocket seat and locating surfaces of debris or built-up material before seating the new insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to drive the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excessive clamp force.
