The SECO 02466012 is a replaceable-tip drill designed for precision holemaking in metalworking and machining operations. Part of the SD103 series, it accepts SD100 insert tips and covers a drill diameter range of 10.5 mm (0.4134 inches) to 10.99 mm (0.4327 inches). The maximum drill depth is 1.18 inches, with an overall length of 3.976 inches. A 5/8-inch Weldon flat shank provides positive rotational engagement in compatible toolholders. Through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, supporting chip evacuation and thermal management during deep or high-feed drilling cycles. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
The 02466012 is suited for holemaking applications in production machining environments, including CNC machining centers and drill presses configured for Weldon flat shank toolholders. The SD103 series body with a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The replaceable-tip design reduces tooling cost by allowing insert swap-out without replacing the full drill body, making it practical for high-volume production runs where consistent hole geometry is required.
Designed for use with SD100 replaceable insert tips in SD103 series toolholders. Accepts 5/8-inch Weldon flat shank toolholders. Refer to SECO SD103 series documentation for the full list of compatible insert grades and geometries.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered off and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in a compatible holder with the set screw engaging the flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify through-coolant supply lines are connected and unobstructed before running the spindle. Inspect the SD100 insert tip for seating and condition before each use; replace the insert if wear exceeds acceptable limits for the material and tolerance being held.
