The SECO 02449035 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07 and manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, square-shaped insert features a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 22 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. It is PVD-coated with a TiAlN and TiN dual-layer finish for extended tool life in demanding milling applications. With four cutting edges and a corner radius of 0.0118 inches, the insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. Typical users are CNC machinists and toolroom technicians running face mills and shoulder mills in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The F40M fine-grain carbide substrate and PVD coating make it a practical choice for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where chip control and edge stability are priorities. It is designed for use in horizontal and vertical machining centers running appropriate cutting parameters for the workpiece material and cutter body. The neutral hand orientation allows flexible positioning within compatible cutter assemblies.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.53-09 and R220.53-09 per manufacturer data. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a fresh insert.
