The SECO 02448875 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XPKX12T304PDER-E08 in manufacturer grade H25. This single-sided, right-hand insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry of 23.1 degrees, and a relief angle of 11 degrees. The E08 chip breaker and honed cutting edge style are engineered for controlled chip evacuation and edge stability. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The bright, uncoated micrograin carbide construction is intended for applications where coating-free edges provide a performance advantage in specific workpiece materials. Machining professionals and tooling specialists handle installation and indexing of this insert.
This insert is suited for milling non-ferrous metals and superalloys and titanium, where sharp, uncoated edges minimize built-up edge and reduce heat transfer into the insert. The positive rake and honed edge make it effective in finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter. It is compatible with cutter series R217.97-X12 and R220.97-X12 and is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. The insert size code is 12T304, placing it in the XPKX-12 series. Installation and indexing of milling inserts should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the spindle fully de-energized and the machine locked out per applicable LOTO procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamp screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Handle uncoated carbide inserts carefully to avoid edge chipping prior to use.
