The SECO 02445842 is a replaceable-tip drill designed for precision holemaking in metal cutting applications. Built on the SD105 platform, it accepts SD100 insert tips, allowing the cutting edge to be swapped without replacing the full tool body. The drill covers a diameter range of 18.00 to 18.99 mm (0.7087 to 0.7476 inches) and reaches a maximum drill depth of 3.74 inches, corresponding to a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. A 3/4-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive and easy setup in compatible toolholders. Through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and extended insert life in deep-hole operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This drill is suited for holemaking operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent diameter control across the 18 to 18.99 mm range is required. The 5xD depth ratio makes it appropriate for medium-depth bores in structural components, fixtures, and machined housings. The through-coolant feature is particularly useful on CNC machining centers where high-pressure coolant delivery is available at the spindle. The Weldon Flat shank interfaces with standard side-lock toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining center setups.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the Weldon Flat shank fully into the toolholder and verify the set screw contacts the flat before tightening. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and that spindle coolant pressure is within the machine and insert manufacturer guidelines before beginning a cut.
