The SECO 02439321 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation 218.19-160-04-E07, this insert features a positive rake angle of 20 degrees and a relief angle of 12 degrees, enabling clean cutting action with reduced cutting forces. The H25 grade micrograin solid carbide substrate is left uncoated, making it well-suited for applications where coating adhesion or thermal reactivity is a concern. The E07 chip breaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during milling operations on non-ferrous metals and superalloys.
This insert is intended for use in face milling, shoulder milling, and similar indexed milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass, as well as superalloys and titanium. The neutral hand orientation allows flexible mounting. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom professionals working with precision milling cutters in production and job-shop environments.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R218.19-32, R217.21-R160, and R220.21-R160 as stated by the manufacturer. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standard designation 218.19-160-04-E07.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the milling cutter body is fully de-energized and spindle is locked before replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the insert screw to the cutter body specification; do not over-torque the clamping screw. Inspect the cutter pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
