The SECO 02422139 is an indexable chamfer angle face mill designed for precision facing operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built to the R220.53 cutter series standard, this tool accepts four SE X 43 inserts secured by screw-clamping and delivers a 45-degree chamfer geometry with a maximum depth of cut of 0.236 inches. The right-hand cutting direction and close-pitch insert layout support consistent chip evacuation and stable cutting performance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Through-coolant capability allows direct coolant delivery to the cutting zone, reducing heat buildup and extending insert life. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers are the primary installers of this tool body.
This face mill is suited for facing and chamfering operations in production and job-shop settings where close-pitch tooling and through-coolant are required. The 3/4 inch arbor hole and 8.20 mm keyway width make it compatible with standard arbor setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a cutting diameter range of 1.57 to 2.05 inches and an overall height of 1.57 inches, it fits mid-size spindle configurations commonly found in both light and medium-duty production machining. Four-flute construction supports smooth, stable cuts on flat surfaces and lead-in chamfer profiles.
Designed for use with SE X 43 series inserts within the SECO R220.53 cutter system. Fits standard 3/4 inch arbor configurations on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the tool body. Verify arbor and keyway alignment before torquing the retention hardware, and confirm insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer specification sheet. Through-coolant passages should be inspected and cleared before use to ensure unobstructed coolant flow to the cutting zone.
