Maximum depth of cut is 0.43 inches with a minimum groove width of 3 mm (0.118 inches), making it suited for precision grooving and parting applications across a range of workpiece materials.
This toolholder is intended for external grooving and cutoff work in production and job-shop turning environments. It is typically installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians on turret-style lathes and live-tool turning centers. The CFTL style and MDT series designation indicate compatibility with Multi-Directional Turning operations, allowing radial, axial, and face grooving approaches depending on the insert selected.
