Built to the 9NR insert style in the Snap Tap series, it features a 0.068-inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.068 inches. The CP500 manufacturer grade uses a micrograin carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating, delivering thermal resistance and edge durability across a broad range of workpiece materials. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 00077956 is suited for grooving applications across universal workpiece material categories, covering ferrous, non-ferrous, exotic alloys, hardened materials, and plastics as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, O, P, and S. The right-hand cutting geometry and FG chip breaker are optimized for tight-tolerance groove profiles. The insert seats into a size 9 insert seat and is held in place by a clamp-style holding method, consistent with standard Snap Tap toolholder configurations. Typical applications include O-ring grooves, snap-ring grooves, and parting-adjacent groove operations on turned components.
