The SECO 00077912 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for external threading and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the CP500 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN finish, providing wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.125 inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.125 inches, making it suited for shallow, precise grooving passes. The FG chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during interrupted and continuous cuts. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible Snap Tap toolholders as part of a clamped insert system.

This insert is intended for use in the SECO Snap Tap series insert system. It is configured for right-hand cutting orientation and is compatible with insert seat size 14 toolholders. The CP500 grade with universal primary workpiece material rating covers steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, O, P, and S per ISO classification. Compatibility

Installation Notes

This insert is installed and replaced by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts.
