It carries the CP500 manufacturer grade with a micrograin carbide substrate and a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating. The insert is configured in a right-hand orientation and produces a 60-degree included angle conforming to ISO thread standards at a 1.50 mm pitch. The A2 chipbreaker geometry supports consistent chip control during threading passes. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.1366 inches, this insert mounts in compatible Snap Tap toolholders and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is optimized for threading stainless steel workpieces, designated workpiece material code M under ISO classification. The 16ER insert style targets external thread profiles on turned parts, making it applicable in CNC lathe and turning center setups where ISO metric thread forms are required. The PVD TiAlN/TiN coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability suited to the cutting demands of stainless and other M-group alloys.
