The SECO 00076239 is a laydown threading insert designed for external ISO threading operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Snap Tap series, it is manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating that extends tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert carries the CP200 manufacturer grade, features a 60-degree included angle, a 2.00 mm thread pitch, and a right-hand cutting orientation. At 0.1366 inches thick with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, it seats securely in compatible laydown threading toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production turning, and contract manufacturing environments are the primary installers.
This insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes K, M, P, and S — corresponding to cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. It is suited for single-point external thread turning on both production and prototype parts where ISO thread profiles are required. The 2.00 mm pitch makes it directly applicable to M-series metric fastener threads and similar ISO-standard external profiles. It is equally appropriate for light-production and high-volume turning applications where consistent thread form and finish are critical.

This insert is installed and changed by machinists or CNC setup technicians — machine spindle must be stopped and the program placed in a safe state before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key at the manufacturer-recommended seating torque range for threading inserts to avoid over-torquing the clamp screw. Verify insert orientation and hand before resuming cutting, as an incorrectly seated or wrong-hand insert will produce defective thread form. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating the replacement insert.
