Built to LCMF160304-0300-MG style, this insert features a TiAlN/TiN coating applied via PVD process, which delivers consistent edge hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Key cutting geometry includes a 0.118-inch maximum cutting width, a 0.177-inch cutting height, and a 0.016-inch corner radius. The micrograin carbide substrate and MG chipbreaker work together to produce controlled chip evacuation across a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert as part of standard tooling maintenance.
This insert is suited for use across a broad spectrum of workpiece material groups, including hardened steels (H), cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), nonferrous materials (N), carbon and alloy steels (P), and heat-resistant superalloys (S). Insert indexing and replacement should be performed with the machine in a full stop condition with spindle power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use a torque wrench calibrated to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamp screw value to avoid seat damage or insert fracture. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to prevent chipping of cutting edges prior to use.
