The SECO 00072407 is a left-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading and turning applications on CNC lathes and boring operations. Built from steel, it features a rectangular shank measuring 0.566 inches in height and 0.625 inches in width with a shank length of 4.5 inches and an overall length of 6.0 inches. The toolholder uses a screw-holding method to secure 16NL inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, part of the Snap Tap series. It is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running threaded bore operations in production or job-shop environments.
This toolholder is intended for internal threading and turning in bores with a minimum diameter of 0.75 inches. The Snap Tap series is commonly used in production threading applications where repeatability and insert indexability are required. The left-hand orientation makes it appropriate for specific spindle rotation directions or reverse-thread configurations. Compatible insert size code is 1.5 with insert compatibility designation 16NL. No coolant-through capability is included; coolant entry style is without coolant.
Designed for use with 16NL indexable inserts with a compatible insert size code of 1.5 and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, as specified by the Snap Tap series toolholder style SN designation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be powered down and locked out before mounting or changing the toolholder. Secure the toolholder in the turret or boring bar holder to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping torque using appropriate tooling keys or set screws. Verify correct insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer's guidelines before resuming cutting operations.
