The SECO 00072380 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from steel, this right-hand holder belongs to the Snap Tap series and accepts size 1.5 inserts with an 11NR insert compatibility designation. The shank measures 0.375 inches in diameter and 0.336 inches in height, with an overall length of 4.0 inches. Insert holding is accomplished via a screw-clamp method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during threading passes. A licensed machinist or CNC lathe operator installs and qualifies this toolholder as part of a standard boring bar or turret setup.
This toolholder is suited for internal threading applications in both production and job-shop environments. The 0.5-inch minimum bore diameter makes it appropriate for small-bore threading work on parts requiring precise thread form. The toolholder style is SN, and it is catalogued under the Snap Tap series, which is commonly used for threading and light turning in tight-bore conditions. No through-coolant port is present; coolant entry style is designated as without coolant. The multi-use designation allows this holder to be applied to both threading and turning cuts where insert geometry permits.
Designed to accept size 1.5 indexable threading inserts with an 11NR insert compatibility designation; verify insert inscribed circle of 0.25 inches and toolholder style SN before ordering replacement inserts.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Before mounting or indexing inserts, confirm the machine spindle is locked and the turret is fully de-energized. Seat the toolholder shank squarely in the turret pocket and torque the clamping screws according to the machine tool manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate thread form.
