The SECO 00061870 is a right-hand indexable grooving toolholder engineered for the Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series. It accepts LC..1303.. inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.413 inches with a minimum groove width of 0.118 inches. The toolholder features through-coolant capability, directing coolant directly to the cutting zone to manage heat and extend insert life during demanding grooving operations. Built from steel with a 12-inch overall length, it is designed for CNC lathe operators and turning center technicians working with stainless steel and similar difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
This toolholder is suited for internal and external grooving applications on CNC turning centers where precise groove geometry and coolant delivery are critical. It is particularly well-matched for stainless steel workpieces, designated by primary workpiece material code M. The A..-CGHR toolholder style and right-hand cutting direction make it appropriate for standard right-hand turning setups. The minimum bore diameter requirement of 1.26 inches should be confirmed before mounting on internal applications. Machinists and toolroom technicians performing production or job-shop grooving operations will find this holder compatible with common MDT insert families.
Compatible inserts include LC..1303.., LCMF, and LCMR insert families. Compatible insert size code is LC1304. Also referenced as manufacturer number A20-CGJR/L 1303. Minimum bore diameter for internal applications is 1.26 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician on a properly powered-down CNC turning center with all axis motion disabled before toolholder exchange. Confirm shank pocket dimensions match the 1.211-inch width and 1.171-inch height before mounting. Connect through-coolant supply lines per the machine tool builder specifications and verify coolant pressure is within the machine rated range before cycling. Follow the insert manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw when seating LC-series inserts.
