The SECO 00059811 is a right-hand CFMR-style indexable turning toolholder built for cut-off and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1.5-inch x 1.5-inch square shank and an overall length of 7 inches, with a head length of 2.61 inches. The toolholder accepts LC..1606.. series inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method. Coolant-through capability is integrated into the body, supporting high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone. The steel construction and Multi-Directional Turning (MDT) series design allow use across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This toolholder is suited for production turning environments where cut-off and grooving are performed on universal workpiece materials, including those classified under material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. That range covers steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and similar materials. It is appropriate for both light and medium-duty lathe work where repeatable insert indexing and stable clamping are required. The multi-use designation allows the same holder body to serve across varied grooving applications without retooling the setup.
Compatible inserts include the LC..1606.. series inserts, specifically LCGN, LCMF, and LCMR styles with a 6.00 mm (0.25 inch) insert width. The back-of-bar to cutting edge distance is 2.0 inches. Compatible insert size code is LC1606.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and all motion arrested before mounting or adjusting the toolholder. Confirm the shank bore in the turret or tool block accepts a 1.5-inch square shank before installation. Verify insert seating and clamp torque according to the machine tool and insert manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut.
